Getting Started

Get-Started

There are some things that you will need to think about when starting your garden. Some might be obvious but there are others that may have been overlooked.

Determine what you want to plant in your garden.

Depending on what plants you decide to plant in your garden may need different needs and wants. Some species of plants may work better or worse with each other.
Deciding on what plants you want in your garden can determin what kind of garden it is for example a garden with just grown food is a fruit/vegitable garden or one with flowers is a flower garden.

Consider where you will place your garden

Some plants thrive better in some places while others thive in another. For example some plants like more of a shady place to grow and die off faster in direct sunlight while other plants or the complete opposite. Another thing to think about is if it is inside or outside your house/appartment.

Tools for your trade

Now that you know what you wanna grow and where you want to place them, now you need some tools and/or materials to plant them.
Some basic supplies may consist of shovels to dig a hole for the plant, a watering can to water your plants if there is no water nearby, a hoe to till the ground for planting, raised garden beds or pots for easier access to your plants, some dirt to fill said raised garden beds/pots and even some seeds if starting from scratch or pregrown plants.

Thats just some of the things that you need to think about when you get started on your own garden that may last for years to come. For a little more information is a video below with a little more explanation on gardening for beginners.
